Orange County is home to many high quality
custom home builders that you have never heard of.
The builders referred to do not build large tracts of homes,
instead they typically build just one or two at a time. In a
very busy year, they will construct perhaps ten homes.
These custom home builders construct their
product all over Orange County,but they are more commonly found in beach cities:
At least half of the homes constructed by these
craftsmen will be specifically built for clients who are
intimately involved in the construction details; however, we
also see a fair many homes built with the intent of finding a
buyer at the conclusion of the construction. These are known as
“Spec” homes (short for a home which is built on speculation of
earning a future profit).
In the past, it has been extremely difficult for
consumers to find spec homes available for purchase, because
these small builders do not have “models, sales offices, flags,
signs,
